The Aidenn Trilogy came into contact with The Beechfields Record
Label in the spring of 2002. At that time, there was no Beechfields
per se, but a collection of Baltimore-area bands that were trying
to develop a musical core in the city, and calling itself "The
Maryland Music Cooperative". The Aidenn Trilogy, along with
another band Designerlux, were all doctoral students at The University
of Maryland. They got wind of my recordings of The Chris and Joylene
show (the first unofficial release by The Beechfields) and approached
me with interest in being a part of The Maryland Music Cooperative.
Susbequently, a compilation CD for The Maryland Music Cooperative
was recorded and released in the summer of 2002. These guys —
Mike Sapko (drums), John Kadavil (vocals/keys), and Eric Moulton
(guitars) — were such enthusiastic supporters of the project
that when time came for them to record their first record, they
asked me for suggestions. I offered to do it for free. We managed
to get all the songs done in Mike's basement with me dragging
my PC and monitor back and forth from my apartment in two days.
I mastered the record in one night, and we all were very happy
about the interesting mix of Depeche Mode meets Black Sabbath
that these guys amalgamated into their own sound. This record
was the first record to bear The Beechfields imprint.
They are all doctors now and still play a little music, but this
record is a really good one and we were glad to get it out into
the world.
