Record Label artist Mike Pursley.
In the songs on Eight Boxes, Mike takes us on a trip
from the edges of Appalachia to the doorsteps of the eastern seaboard.
He combines unique lyrics, lo-fi recording techniques and melodic
songwriting into a brooding, uplifting and colorful record, reminiscent
of 60’s psych-folk, but updated for the iPod generation.
On Eight Boxes Mike builds a record full of voices,
acoustic and electric guitars, bass, banjo, TR-505, and assorted
hand percussion—all with a lo-fi aesthetic. This eclectic
mix of old and new, realism and surrealism, digital and analog,
will have you listening from beginning to end and wanting more.
