REVIEWS FOR AVERAGE (PT. 1): NUMERATOR

"Abbreviated rhythms, soaring synths, and thick ambient bass lines are but a few of the pieces to Brother John’s master jigsaw puzzle. Harmonies follow down through a maze of keyboard rhythms and heavenly ambience. In addition he explores electro pop ala New Order and French house much like Air. This may just be one of those special electronic albums that will satisfy the needs of both the underground and the mainstream casual clubber."

"The first song “Celestia” starts off with a quiet Ben Folds like piano piece which morphs into electronica synth near the middle and ends by morphing back to the piano piece. This is followed by “The Halls,” which is akin to a poppy Atom and His Package tune. Track 4 “Piss Off” is light and had me thinking of an even more airy Portishead without the beats mixed with Alan Parsons. The rest of the songs on this release are just as meshed up. This is a very good and interesting CD to say the least."

"...Average is stuffed to the gills with multi-instrumental flights of fancy, exploring a myriad of textural concepts under the wide umbrella of experimental music. Buried within the click + cut chaos are profound "Eureka!" moments..."

"Average (Part 1): Numerator, [is] an ever-shifting kaleidoscope of electronic experiments, fey little melodies, spacious ambient textures and early industrial beats."
